How do we get to the Fishcamp?

The Fishcamp is on the Alaska Highway system and is easy to get to in an automobile from Anchorage. It is a beautiful 3.5 hour drive along scenic waterways, over a mountain pass and several charming stops through small towns to enjoy a refreshment and some photo opportunities.
By Automobile;

There are these two (2) choices that guests typically use to arrive to the Fishcamp for the week.

1. FROM ANCHORAGE AIRPORT: The most popular mode is to arrive into the Anchorage Airport (ANC) and pick up your rental vehicle on site at the airport.
You will be given a map or use your phone navigation system with our address plugged in: 16650 Brody Street, Ninilchik, Alaska 99639

We recommend guests allow time to stop off at the Portage Glacier on your way down to camp. It is located about 1-hour out of Anchorage and worth the short drive to the glacier and visitor center.

NOTE: When you see cars pulled off to the side of the road way along Turnagain Arm waterway, just 30-minutes out of Anchorage, keep your eyes peeled for Dahl Sheep and Goats along the crags and rock faces. There are plenty of stop offs and pull outs to stop for photos and stretch you legs looking at the sea and the busy tidal action.

When you arrive into Soldotna, you are one-hour from the camp. A Fred Meyers Store is on your left just as you enter Soldotna. We recommend you stop here and pick up any beverages and personal snacks you would enjoy for the week. If you wish to pick up your fishing license at Fred Meyer, get a one-week non-resident fishing license BUT do not get a King Stamp. (These will be picked up later if needed for your week.) License may also be purchased locally at the General Store by the lodge.

Once you arrive into Ninilchik, turn Left at the gas station on Oilwell Road. Drive 3.5 miles to Brody Road and turn Left. Drive 1/2 mile and the Lodge Sign is on the river. Cross the bridge and turn right into our driveway and come to the Lodge Deck, where we will be expecting you for your exciting week ahead.

2. FROM KENAI AIRPORT: Some guests wish to take another short 25-minute  flight from Anchorage down to Kenai (ENA) and rent the car there. There are most major Car Rental Agencies in the Kenai Airport as well. The Lodge is an one-hour drive from Kenai. Once you get off the plane and rent your car right at the Kenai Airport, you can stop at one of the several grocery stores nearby; Walmart, Safeway and other markets to pick up any beverages and snacks for the week. The drive to the Lodge is a scenic trip along some beautiful rivers, the Cook Inlet and other lakes & streams. There are ample pull outs and places to stop and enjoy the mountain views set along the ocean.

If you choose the Kenai route, you may check your bags and fish box directly home on most major carriers and not have to handle it in Anchorage again.
RAVN Airlines at www.flyRAVN.com is the most common carrier between Anchorage and Kenai with the most scheduled daily flights.
