No. All gear and tackle is provided on every adventure. You can bring your own gear if you would like to use it, but there are poles and waders available at the Fishcamp. Guests enjoy fishing our local river using small trout tackle for Dolly Varden.
All of June, July & August are great times for fishing & touring Alaska.
Many guests at the Fishcamp do not fish. There is gorgeous scenery to photograph, quiet places to read, amazing hikes & port city tours to enjoy. The Fishcamp is not just for the diehard fisherman.
There is limited cellular coverage in Ninilchik and we have wifi available at the Fishcamp for emails.
The most efficient way to take home the fish you catch is through your airlines as an additional bag.
You can also ship your catch right to your front door with local Fed-Ex services.
We can help you pack your fish box with the deep frozen fish ready to ship home.
